Legendary Pokémon

On this page

A Legendary Spawn Cycle occurs randomly every few hours. Up to five legends can be spawned during each cycle, with the amount depending on how many players are online.

  • An additional legend is spawned for every 10 online players (up to 5 spawns). At least one legend is guaranteed to spawn.
  • In the minutes leading up to the cycle, a countdown timer is periodically broadcasted in chat.
  • If a spawned legend remains uncaptured for 5 minutes, it's position will periodically be broadcasted in chat, and displayed in /rarespawns.
  • Legends are guaranteed to not despawn for 15 minutes, even if the server reboots.
  • Certain legends can only be spawned while in the Safari or a Fishing Area.

Spawn Eligibility

In order to be eligible for a legend spawn during a spawn cycle, the following conditions must be met:

  • Located within a valid biome
  • Not AFK
  • Trusted (if within a claim player claim)

Legend Locks

Legends are 'locked' to all players that were nearby at the time of the spawn for 5 minutes. If a legend spawn occurs in a player claim, only players that are trusted in the claim are added to the lock.

Legend Expeditions

Certain legends can only be obtained through Expeditions. To begin an Expedition, collect 4 Fragments and craft the corresponding Expedition Item. Once crafted, right-click while holding the Expedition Item to teleport to the Expedition Area, where you’ll have an opportunity to catch that Legendary Pokémon.

Every Expedition runs the same way. Only the player who begins one is teleported in, the Pokémon waiting there is level 70 and locked to them, and a bossbar tracks it and points the way. Expedition Pokémon are also far more likely to be shiny than an ordinary legend spawn, at 5% against the 0.4% of a Legendary Spawn Cycle.

Kubfu Expedition

A complete Isle of Armor Ticket ticket is awarded for defeating Master Mustard in the Battle Tower, and again for the first defeat of the Elite Four Champion in a season. Isle of Armor Ticket Fragments may also be found in the Daily Rewards pool.

Kubfu holds either a Scroll of Darkness or a Scroll of Waters, decided at random when the Expedition begins. The scroll cannot be chosen, and because Kubfu holds it rather than handing it over, it is only received once the Kubfu has been caught.

That scroll decides which Urshifu it becomes. Send the Kubfu out and right-click it while holding the scroll to evolve it, which consumes the scroll.

Marshadow Expedition

The Lost Shadow is assembled from 4 Lost Shadow Fragments, though it may also be found whole. Both the fragments and the complete item appear in Fishing Treasure. Untradable Fragments are also found in the Daily Rewards pool.

Mew Expedition

The Old Sea Map is assembled from 4 Old Sea Map Fragments, though it may also be found whole. Both the fragments and the complete item appear in Fishing Treasure. Untradable Fragments are also found in the Daily Rewards pool.
