Gym Leaders
On this page
Leaders may battle using either their own teams or temporary teams imported via the web-based Showdown team builder pokepast.es. Using a personal team awards additional
Battle Points and Gym Leader badge progress.
To apply to become a Gym Leader you must meet the following requirements:
- Must have 24 hours of
/playtimeon the server - Have a competitive understanding of Pokémon battles
- Must be at least 13 years of age
If you meet all these requirements and would like to apply, please fill out the Gym Leader Application. It is highly recommended to use Pokémon that are well-trained with high IVs and EVs, as well as relatively viable move/ability/item choices (ex: the move "Ember" is not ideal, because its base power is incredibly low, as opposed to something like "Flamethrower" etc.).
Application Guidelines
All Gym Leader applications must follow these requirements:
- If you are applying for multiple Gyms, include every Gym and team within a single application. Clearly list the corresponding type next to each PokéPaste.
- Standard Gym and Elite Four applications must be submitted separately.
- Shiny Pokémon may not be used on temporary teams.
- When using a Mega Pokémon, add its standard form to the Showdown team with the appropriate Mega Stone as its held item. Do not select the Mega-Evolved form directly.
- When using Hidden Power, adjust the Pokémon's IVs for the desired type and enter the move as Hidden Power without specifying its type in Showdown. Refer to the Hidden Power IV combinations for the required IVs.
- To edit a team after submitting your application, attach the updated PokéPaste in the application comments.
Applications that do not meet these requirements will be denied.

/gyms - A leader accepts the battle, and both players are teleported to the gym
- If the leader has a temporary team defined for that specific gym, their current party is automatically swapped to it. Temporary teams do not grant normal progression (e.g., PokéDex progress) and do not replace the leader’s real Pokémon.
- The leader runs
/leader giveor/leader wondepending on if they won the battle or not - If a temporary team was used, the leader’s original party is automatically restored after the battle
